This book by Eric Wight follows the adventures of school age Finney Bleak who is from a long line of people who have spectacularly funny deaths. Finney meets a girl who ditches him and he has to deal with bullies and he struggles with his own mortality. It sounds heavy, but the book is very sweet and very charming. My Dead Girlfriend is as bouncy as Mark Twain and has the odd sensability of Charles Addams. And for me, there is no higher praise.
