No, this is not part of a boring historic date or a mathematical footnote. 1726 is the number of pageviews that we got for the SideChicks webcomic on the Graphic Smash page for January 17, 07. Today, the 18th, we have a smaller number because there is no new material up on a Thursday on GS. (Here on the LSP site we update SideChicks on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on the Graphic Smash page a day later.) For a webcomic with less than 50 images up on the net, this seems a decent number for the day. When I contacted talented Tim Demeter (a guru at GS) and asked him about the number spike, he said that several of the other artists syndicated on the page were running ads that were driving traffic to the GS site. And I was getting a little spill over.
I am not sure what I expected when I first launched the SideChicks strip, but I am very happy that the audience is building. It is nice to know that for a serial bit of free webcomic, SideChicks is clicking with some fans. I would like to thank you for your readership and continued support. And I would like to thank the people that are placing Project Wonderful ads all around SideChicks.
Sincerely,
Bill Williams II
ps. Later in the quarter, we will be launching another webcomic and I will have more info on the strip when we get closer to the launch date.
