Battle for Bludhaven #6- Way Under

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

To say that this is a stupid comic book is to insult enjoyable stupid comics. This is “a bad idea to set up a bad series” stupid. Plot lines just end with no resolution. The new Firebrand goes to find Uncle Sam in the last issue and does not appear in this one. A robot dog explodes and then Captain Atom follows suit. The new Atomic Knights stop in front of a door. The story stops short and ends like they were promised eight issue and got six.

The premise is that when Chemo was detonated over Bludhaven, it opened a rift which allowed Captain Atom to rejoin the DCU after a little while in exile. Then he is slapped into the Monarch armor to contain his energy. The random heroes that are fighting in Bludhaven have to run for it because they can sense that Captain Atom/ Monarch is going to detonate and leave a smoking hole. Once again, this is something that could have and should have been covered in a page or two in the new Freedom Fighters book. Terrible stuff.
